Workshop - Sun printing at the Scottish Fisheries Museum

  • Scottish Fisheries Museum St Ayles, Harbour Head, Anstruther KY10 3AB (map)

Blue_Print for adults/children 13+ £5

Using the sun to expose prints. Kit will introduce you to printing cyanotypes in the sun using natural materials, without a camera. Don't worry it will still work if it's cloudy! It will just take a wee bit longer.

In this more advanced workshop, we will coat paper with uv light-sensitive chemicals and then use this prepared paper to print on.

Sunprints or Cyanotypes are an old photographic technique dating from 1842 that produces a prussian blue and white print and involves placing objects onto photo-sensitive paper, which will be provided.

We will use feathers, leaves and bits of fishing net and perhaps even seaweed to make our prints.
